FEATURES OF THE MANIFESTATIONS OF LOW-STABLE PRE-TRANSITION STATES IN ORDERING CuZn ALLOYS AND IN THE INTERMETALLIC COMPOUND AlNi

The features of the structural-phase states in the ordering alloy CuZn and in the inermetallic AlNi in low-stability pre-transition states during heating and cooling processes have been studied by computer simulation methods.

In the CuZn alloy, it was found that in the region of phase transitions order-disorder and disorder-order, low-stability pre-transition states are realized; the irreversibility of the processes of structural-phase transformations is observed during thermal cycling through the PT region of PB on the background of the combination of atomic ordering and structural rearrangements in the system.

In the intermetallic compound NiAl, the effect of complexes of antiphase boundaries (a pair of shear APBs and a pair of thermal APBs) on low-stability pre-transition states was studied and it was found that in the region of low-stability structural-phase states the formation energy of a complex of thermal APBs is higher than the formation energy of a complex of shear APBs. The contribution of APB to the disordering process is significant up to the temperature of the structural-phase transformation.
